Accommodation in Granada

Hotels
Granada has an excellent selection of hotels, hostels and self-catering apartments to rent. Here I'm only going to list a few that have been used by my family and friends.

It is useful to remember that for festivals and public holidays hotels book up in advance, particularly around the Easter period it is essential to book early.

  • Hotel Santa Isabel Real - this is a charming hotel, a beautifully restored 14th century building next to the Convento Santa Isabel La Real in the Albaicín. Currently our absolute favourite with the wonderful Plaza de San Miguel Bajo with all its restaurants a short walk away. The Albaicín /Alhambra bus stops right outside and it is a 5 minute walk down to the town centre.
  • Hotel Alixares - situated on the Alhambra hill, this hotel offers peace and tranquility away from the busy city centre and as close to the Alhambra as you can get. There is parking available and buses regularly go up to the Alhambra so transport is easy. It also has the added attraction of a swimming pool in summer. 4 Star.
  • Hotel Ana Capri - this hotel is located in the heart of the lively Plaza Nueva, with everything on your doorstep, down a side street so not on the Plaza itself.
  • Hotel Macía - also located in Plaza Nueva on the square itself so can be noisy if your room is at the front. My family booked here one Easter and had the added advantage of being able to watch the processions from their balcony. 2 Star

Apartments
Casa De Rafa, el numero 8 offers good budget apartments to rent in the heart of the Albaicín. My friends use this place as it is very good value, lots of character and a great sun terrace with views of the Alhambra. Rafa sometimes even has film screenings up there, projected onto a neighbour's house.

Villas
Carmen Santa Ana is a villa to rent out with pool. It's a bit expensive but could work out very well if you are a large group. We have not actually stayed here but we have our eye on it for when all the family come at the same time.
